 Dear Visitor,we constantly use numerous things in numerous functions in our every day life. Most of the time we do this automatically and without much heed. Only on some occasions we tend to use that one special utensil: when we cook, we reach out for that special kitchen-knife, that so perfectly chops herbs; at work we only use the ball-pen, that so wonderfully weighs in our hand; in the evening we retreat with the elegant wine glass; in our pastime we carefully pack the fly rod, with a smooth casting performance; we sit back with our favourite pipe and marvel at its grain.If asked, we would wish for practical, convenient and best quality products. But why is it that we favour some things more than others, use them with more care and pleasure? I think that beyond their usefulness those things in some special way touch our senses. In other words: fine things! I have been fly-fishing for over 25 years in various countries. I smoked my first pipe 20 years ago. Both, fly-fishing and the pipe, quickly grew to my greatest passions.
